Jameson Releasing Irish Whiskey Flavored With Cold Brew Coffee

Jameson Cold Brew has 30% ABV with 17 mg of caffeine per shot.

Jameson is infusing its beloved blended Irish whiskey with the invigorating flavor of cold brew coffee in a new limited-edition expression.

Jameson Cold Brew is more like Jägermeister Cold Brew Coffee than other bean blends we’ve seen from Jack Daniels, Jim Beam and Oak & Bond in that it’s an alcoholic beverage bottled at 30 percent ABV.  But unlike the Jäger, Jameson Cold Brew isn’t mixed with liquid coffee.

Rather, the triple-distilled amber spirit is merely informed by the bold profile of 100 percent Arabica beans from Brazil and Colombia. Each 1.5-ounce serving contains a healthy 17-mg dose of caffeine, which is about the amount of kick you get from a shot of espresso.

Tasting notes describe a rich aroma, toasted oak and dark chocolate on the palate, and a smooth finish—think of it as akin to an Irish Coffee cocktail minus the cream.

The Dublin-based distillery recommends trying it in a “Jameson Cold Brewtini”:

  • 2-parts Jameson Cold Brew
  • 1-part Cold Brew coffee
  • ½-parts simple syrup

Just as you would do with a regular martini, combine the ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into the appropriate glassware.

Priced at $24.99 for a fifth, Jameson Cold Brew is available to preorder on ReserveBar.com beginning January 25 ahead of its nationwide release in March.
