The latest expression from The Glenlivet Winchester Collection celebrates 40 years of expert scotch making from Master Distiller Alan Winchester in an ultra-exclusive package.
The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1967, valued at $25,000, will be limited to just 150 examples. Each contains a masterfully-crafted blend of aged single malts, the youngest of which is dated 1967.
The cask-strength whisky was matured for 50 years to develop an extraordinarily robust nose and flavor.
Here are the official tasting notes:
The whisky boasts a rich and fruity nose, notes of apricot jam and sweet ripe peaches, and a hint of toasted almonds.
The smooth taste continues with fondant orange and milk chocolate flavors, velvety texture and a long, and a luxuriously sweet finish.
A unique, hand-blown glass bottle was conceived by award-winning British designer Bethan Gray, who used the rolling Scottish hills that surround The Glenlivet distillery as inspiration for the elegant Dhow ship-shaped pattern.
Each is elegantly presented in a birds-eye maple case embellished with delicate copper and mother-of-pearl inlays.
“The launch of Vintage 1967 is a momentous occasion for The Glenlivet, and a particularly proud one for me personally,” says Winchester.
“To have my name associated with one of the finest single malts that money can buy is an honor—what a fantastic way to celebrate more than 40 years in the Scotch whisky industry.”
We’ll drink to that.
