Before The Walking Dead, basic cable TV audiences didn’t know how much they needed about zombies

Now the cult comic book series that spawned the hit AMC series is partnering with liquor giant Diageo and added a branded bourbon to its collection of schwag — under a partnership they call Spirits of the Apocalypse, they’re making The Walking Dead Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Yep, next time you sit down to binge on all the violence and creepiness, you can have a bottle of this good stuff at your side to add to the fun.

In tasting notes from a press release announcing the zombie-inspired hooch, Diageo says it is a “well-balanced bourbon” that “features notes of rye and the essence of vanilla.”

It also has a “soft caramel nose and aroma of orchard fruit.” It’s a pretty stout shot, too, with a 47 percent ABV.

The distributors say The Walking Dead Whiskey is “best enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a number of delicious cocktails.” They offer a cocktail recipe to help you out:

Maggie’s “Lemonade”

1.25 oz The Walking Dead Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
2 oz Lemonade
2 oz Peach Tea
Glass: Pint
Garnish: Mint & grilled peaches

Directions: Add all ingredients into a Pint glass filled with ice, gently stir and garnish.

Beginning this month, The Walking Dead Whiskey is available at stores everywhere. You can also order it online at sites like Reserve Bar. It retails at $34.99 for a 750mL bottle.
