The 5 Most Exciting Game Reveals From PlayStation Experience 2015

Sony proves once again that it’s got more than a few tricks up its sleeve.

As we close on 2015, it’s easy to look back and see why this has been one of the best years ever for gaming. With instant classics like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, Until Dawn and more, it’s hard to think that it can get better. At Saturday’s PlayStation Experience, where Sony showed what’s in store for PlayStation fans next, the company proved it’s looking toward the future, and 2016 could be bigger than ever. Here are five of the biggest game reveals from the show that are poised to make waves in the year to come.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

For many gamers Final Fantasy VII was the experience that turned gaming from a pastime into an art form. Square Enix has finally tapped that rabid fan following with their production of a current-gen remake of the iconic title. The trailer shows that this version of Final Fantasy VII is going to be a far cry from the polygonal blockiness and 2D backgrounds of the original. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the beautiful, but faithful recreations of Barret, Cloud, and the city of Midgar have us on pins and needles.

Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V has more characters than you can shake a stick at and the latest reveal is the diabolical F.A.N.G. Serving as M. Bison’s second-in-command, F.A.N.G. introduces a series first: poison attacks that sap an opponent’s health over time. The Street Fighter series has long been a competitive favorite amongst professional gamers, and the fifth main series title is sure to add a huge number of changes to the paradigm.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

The Uncharted series has been Sony’s ace-in-the-hole for quite some time. It answers Nintendo and Microsoft’s exclusives with an extremely high-quality global romp spanning three games to date. The fourth and last, entry in the series reunites a ton of our old friends and will have us meeting new ones as well. Saturday’s trailer showed the return of Nathan’s brother Sam and a wholly new branching dialogue system that will let gamers make the story their own like never before.

Paragon

Epic Games is aiming to revolutionize MOBA gameplay with its upcoming Paragon. Mixing the lane-centric gameplay of a MOBA with the visceral action of a third-person shooter, Paragon looks like the first in a new wave of much more action-packed MOBA games. Seeing how Epic Games is also responsible for the industry-leading Unreal Engine, it’s no surprise that Paragon is also quite the looker too.

Destiny: The Taken King – Sparrow Racing League

After zipping around on the Sparrow hoverbike in Destiny, it seems like a no-brainer that there should be a racing feature for players to compete in. Well, it’s been one of the most fan-requested features since Destiny’s release, and tomorrow Bungie is finally answering the call with the Sparrow Racing League event. For now it’ll only be a peek at what Bungie has in store for the future of the game with only two tracks being available during the event.  Anyone who owns Destiny: The Taken King is free to participate in the event that starts on December 8 and lasts until December 29.
