Master & Dynamic Debuts Kevin Durant-Designed MW65 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones
An exclusive first look at KD’s new twist on the luxury audio brand’s latest noise-canceling headphones.
Kevin Durant may be out for the entire 2019-20 NBA season because of an Achilles injury, but that hasn’t stopped the Golden State Warriors star from dropping an off-court collaboration with high-end audio brand Master & Dynamic.
Maxim.com has the exclusive first look at KD’s new spin on the MW65, the brand’s first noise-canceling headphones, which were released to much acclaim among audiophiles back in May.
The MW65’s strikingly handsome industrial aesthetic, which blends genuine leather and high-quality metal, was previously only available in two original colors: gun metal and black leather or silver leather and brown leather.
But Durant, who has part ownership in Master & Dynamic, is now shooting his shot with a silver “Studio 35” colorway featuring cool grey leather, orange detailing, metallic stitching, and contrasting buttons.
Just like the regular MW65, these luxe headphones are made from surprisingly lightweight anodized aluminum frames and leather accents that tip the scales at just 245 grams, in addition to delivering Master and Dynamic’s signature rich, warm sound.
All three colorways boast more visual pop than mass-produced mainstays like Bose or Beats, and are ideal for discerning audiophiles who want to wear something that stands out from the rest of the over-ear headphone crowd.
“Master & Dynamic has been elevating the audio game since they launched in 2014 and I felt that they were a company I had to get involved with,” Durant said in a statement announcing the headphones.
“Music is such a huge part of my life that their products have become an important part of my day to day, and I’m looking forward to some amazing collaboration between our teams.”
The Durant-designed “Studio 35 MW65 Active Noise-Cancelling Wireless Over-Ear Headphones” are available for $499 at masterdynamic.com.
