9 Hotels That Let You Strip Down

Clothing optional. Blushing unavoidable.

Clothing optional. Blushing unavoidable.

For some travelers, itsy bitsy bikinis or revealing Speedos are too restraining and warm — a vacation isn’t a vacation without nudity. Luckily for them, these hotels are redefining casual dress with policies that let guests bare it all (or almost all). So take a peek — a little voyeurism never hurt anyone except those in a committed relationship.

Desire Resort and Spa, Puerto Morelos, Mexico

You’ll find all sorts at this clothing-optional, couples-only resort, from older married couples, to young nudists, to swingers. One thing they all have in common: They like to get naked. The resort bills itself as “a place of freedom where fantasies become real,” and these fantasies can become real all over the property — the white-sand beach, the big pool, and especially the large Jacuzzi, which can get pretty X-rated towards the wee hours of the morning…and pretty polluted in the wee hours of the afternoon.

Hotel Victor, Miami

Hotel Victor’s clothing-optional Turkish hammam is decidedly, well, steamy. The entire boutique hotel is packed with sexy glamour — eccentric furniture, a jellyfish aquarium, and sultry rooms. Nudity not recommended in the jellyfish tank.

Breezes Grand Resort & Spa Negril, Jamaica

This Jamaica resort is equal opportunity, offering both clothed and clothing optional sections — or, as some of the regulars might put it, “a nude side and a prude side.” There are plenty of signs so that guests don’t stray unsuspectingly into the wrong area, thus avoiding any possible, “What’s that worm doing to that man!” situations. Guest on the nude side can expect body painting, hash pipes in the gift shop, slot machines, and late-night naked parties in the hot tub. Guest on the prude side can expect to repeatedly say, “Why, I never!” while fanning themselves.

Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa, Bermuda

Cambridge Beaches is one of the top luxury options in Bermuda, but that doesn’t mean guests can’t cover up. The Sky Deck overlooking the pool and beach is clothing optional, according to our telescope.

Temptation Resort Spa Los Cabos, Mexico

The pool and Jacuzzi bar are topless optional, there is Kama Sutra artwork hanging over the bed, the spa is lined with paintings of nudes, and raunchy activities are offered daily. And we thought with a name like “Temptation” it would feature nothing but libraries, duck ponds and more libraries. (Warning: Disney Dollars not accepted.)

THEHotel at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

The Moorea Beach Club at THEhotel — part of the Mandalay Bay hotel complex — has a rowdy pool party, exclusive to guests over 21. Poolside massage services are available, and “European” sunbathing (read: topless) is permitted.”Uruguayan” sunbathing is, however, still forbidden in 47 states.

Sunset Beach Resort & Spa, Jamaica

This resort draws its fair share of party-hearty guests with its drinking contests, casino, nightclub, six bars and isolated nude beach. Show off your maturity and sophistication by calling the nude beach the “No-No Land.”

Ventana Inn & Spa, Big Sur

This gorgeous, rustic retreat is hidden away on over 200 acres in Big Sur, and guests can strip down at its clothing optional pool without fear of prying eyes…or prying ears, noses, or gall bladders.

Temptation Resort Spa Cancun

Like its sister property in Los Cabos, this adults-only resort is topless optional. It caters to an uninhibited crowd with risqué live shows and provocative games. And you thought your version of “Strip Angry Birds” was exotic…
