Even before Michael Tommasiello touched down in Miami for this year’s Art Basel, he had 71 events scheduled over a six day period. Though the week-long event doesn’t officially start until Thursday, he’s already having to decide between 10 parties all happening Tuesday night, including something Ellie Goulding is hosting with MAC Cosmetics and a “Fuccboi Funeral”-themed art exhibition. Those might not sound like the most alluring thing for a 27-year-old dude — but the women that are attend definitely are.

“Basel was really what launched the whole @NYDoorman thing,” Tommasiello told Maxim earlier this week. @NYDoorman was the previously anonymous persona that made the marketer and digital strategist a fixture in New York City nightlife. “It was the first time someone thought I was funny and took decent pictures and syndicated my content for a bigger outlet,” Tommasiello said.

A Basel vet, Tommasiello definitely has his a few favorites when it comes to events. “The Dom Perignon party is always a crazy experience,” he explained. “It’s a staple, just from like the ridiculous security to get in, but once you get in it’s just like a promised land. It’s really everything you imagine it to be: the most attractive people, the best celebrities. It’s that party that everyone talks about and are always asking ‘how do you get in, how do you get in’ it’s a huge party that’s only known to a small amount of people”

Of course this isn’t the only week with hot parties and hotter girls, but the dude’s been to a ton of them and definitely knows how to pick the winners. “Basel, moreso than the other week — like Fashion Week or Coachella — really turns it up,” he boasted. “I think because of the art aspect they really have the ability to go crazy and people won’t think it’s out of place or ask why.” The bittersweet part? Since you find yourself going from parties to afterparties to brunch and then to pool parties before starting it all over again, scheduling the time to see the art that you came for can be difficult.

Different creative vibes mean different types of babes milling around. “Oh man, the women,” Tommasiello started. “You have the women from Miami who are some of the most attractive people in the world because they’re from all over the world. I just got invited to a party at the Versace Mansion and it’s like who knows what that’s going to be like but I can guarantee you that there’s going to be some hot girls serving drinks.”
While more than a few of them will make their way onto his Instagram, the partier says there’s a distinct difference with Basel girls. ”The thing about the girls at Basel is they are having fun. Like in New York, everyone takes themselves really seriously and get’s dressed up, and that’s great because it’s a part of the city. And Coachella is about the flower crowns and the hippie stuff. Art Basel is more about being whomever you want to be and having that be okay. So the self expansion that comes of it because of the art aspect means people are encouraged to be as weird or as sexual as they want.”
Keep up with just how sexual it all is on NYDoorman’s Instagram this week.
