The Charming Spy: Sean Connery
“There is nothing like a challenge to bring out the best in a man.”
In a world of uncertainties, one thing can be counted as gospel: There will never be another Sean Connery. He is the man who, with a little help from Ian Fleming, transformed spycraft into an homage in equal parts to cool gadgetry and attainable international babes. A proud native of Scotland, Connery has won many awards—an Oscar, some Golden Globes, etc.—but that’s really beside the point. He starred in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. He is considered “The Greatest Living Scot” and “Scotland’s Greatest Living National Treasure”. In 1989, he was proclaimed “Sexiest Man Alive” by People. In 1999, at age 69, he was voted “Sexiest Man of the Century.”
