The Country Gentleman: Johnny Cash

“Success is having to worry about every damn thing in the world, except money.”

Johnny Cash, with his brassy baritone and pompadour, is a country legend. but he’s really the man of all genres, a master of rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, gospel and bluegrass. He was a complicated man, and we love him for that. He was a drug addict, a rebel, a road warrior and a longtime husband to June Carter Cash, herself a member of country royalty. He performed free concerts in prisons, wore all black (long story), and usually started shows a simple gretting: “Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.”
