Watch Two Crazy Guys With Jetpacks Fly Alongside an Airbus A380 Above Dubai

Surprisingly, not a James Bond stunt.

Under any other circumstances, this is the sort of stunt that would see the men strapped to the jetpacks—”Jetman” Yves Rossy and his compatriot Vince Reffet — behind bars. But this insane video, which shows the two flying wing-to-wing with an Airbus A380 jet liner above Dubai, is actually pretty killer ad for Emirates Airline, reported the Verge.

Rossy’s website, Jetman.com, tells a little more about the making of this thrilling spot, which involved the A380, which is bigger than the original jumbo jets:

The carefully choreographed aerial showcase involved the world’s largest passenger aircraft flying at 4,000 feet in two holding patterns. The A380 aircraft was then joined by the Jetman Dubai duo, experienced pilots and operators of the smallest jet propelled wing, who were deployed from a helicopter that hovered above the aircraft at 5,500 feet. The duo conducted formations on both sides of the aircraft and joined to one side thereafter before breaking away.

It was a controlled situation and Yves Rossy is just the man for this kind of thing — a video released earlier this year showed him streaking across the skyline of Dubai. but it’s still hard to watch the video and not flinch whenever it looks like the jetpackers are nearing the A380’s engines. Yikes.
