This Mind-Blowing Sky Pool Will Let You Swim Through The Air
This is maybe not for the weak of heart.
Don’t look down.
London developer Ballymore Group just unveiled designs for the world’s first “sky pool” in London. The 90-foot long, 10-foot deep glass-encased transparent swimming pool will be suspended 10 stories in the air between two apartment buildings at Embassy Gardens at the riverside development of Nine Elms in south-west London.
If you think this seems unsafe, rest easy: According to the Verge, the pool will be constructed using 8-inch thick reinforced glass with the engineering assistance of aquarium designers.
If the pool design itself doesn’t get you, consider the locale. “It will be for the private use of residents, who will be able to swim from one building to the next and enjoy a dramatic vista of the Palace of Westminster and the London Eye,” according to the listing from on Homes and Property. “The linked sky deck at the top of the two buildings will have a summer bar and sun loungers, a spa and orangery.”
If you want access, you’ll need to buy one of the apartments at the Embassy Gardens, which will go on sale in September and cost you a cool £602,000 (or $942,572). Better start saving now.
