Give It Up For This Guy Who Took His Traffic Stop to the Next Level

Just do the license and registration, this was an unnecessary step.

He may be in his 70s, but one Seattle-area resident is clearly not too old to party irresponsibly. Seattle police officer Nic Abts-Olsen discovered this recently when he pulled the elderly man over for driving without headlights and the man allegedly decided that was a good time to open his trusty vial of cocaine and take a sniff.

Reuters reported the officer had the most logical reaction imaginable:

“What is that? Are you kidding?” Officer Nic Abts-Olsen can be heard saying to the man in an exchange captured by the patrol car’s dashboard camera. “You’re about to snort coke on the side of the road?”

The man fumbled his nose candy, coating himself, then claimed he was just trying to hoover up some “vitamins,” reported the news wire.

The man gave up the ruse pretty quick, though, and copped to his blow, giving Officer Abts-Olsen kudos for “keen detection skills” in the process, according to a statement from Seattle police.

Unfortunately for the arrestee, Officer Abts-Olsen was prepared to let him off with a warning—until he decided it was time for a 70s-style disco in his nostrils.

The man was charged with narcotics possession and taken to the Kings County jail.
