Watching Porn Is Bad for Men but OK for Women, New Research Finds

Sucks for us.

Men undeniably consume more pornography than women do. It’s just a fact of life… like that the universe is vast or that bacon is delicious.

But researchers at the 112th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association gave us smut-loving males a stern warning: Porn is damaging to our sex lives, and far more so than it is for women’s.

Researchers, led by Dr. Matthew Christman of the Naval Medical Center of San Diego, found that browsing PornHub for too many lonely nights makes it more difficult for men to “connect with a partner in the bedroom.” In turn, this causes “severe damage to sexual and romantic relationships and make intimacy challenging.”

The same did not apply to women.

The research looked at two surveys. One was administered to women ages 20 to 40. 40 percent of those women claimed they viewed pornography occasionally, which had no considerable impact on their sex lives.

In another study on 312 men, 20 percent admitted to viewing porn three to five times weekly. Four percent of men admitted to preferring porn over having sex with a living-breathing partner. Researchers noted “a correlation between men who used pornography frequently and those who reported lack of sexual desire and intercourse satisfaction.”

Even worse, experiencing erectile disfunction during prime time was a side effect of viewing too much porn. That could scare just about any guy off porn for good.
