This Jaw-Dropping Turkish Cave Hotel Is Carved Right into a Giant Cliff

Other than setting up camp in an underwater hotel or real-life castle, it seems like one of the most stunning places on the planet to stay would be in a breathtaking cave. Of course, not literally just any old hole in the wall. But rather one like Yunak Evleri, which despite being carved into an enormous hillside, blends historical charm and modern conveniences.
Spread amongst the destination’s seven cave houses, the hotel includes 15 suites, three deluxe and 22 classic rooms, for a total of 40 unique rooms dating all the way back to the 5th Century.
At its crown sits a relatively new, 19th century Greek mansion, which houses the hotel’s main lobby and serves as a public gathering spot.
Inside the mansion, you’ll find cozy rooms to meet, chill, catch movies, listen to music, watch TV and even touch base with the outside world via a computer and Wi-Fi, if you really feel the need to do so. But why on Earth would you want to, when you’re surrounded by the historic Cappadocia region’s amazing rocky terrain, elaborate underground cities and hidden cavernous churches?
Blended in with the antique furnishings and local handicrafts spread throughout the property, modern en suite conveniences include central heating, lights, phones, TVs, iPod docks, hypoallergenic bedding, and either hydro massage or a steam bath within each room’s spacious, private marble bathroom. So you’ll hardly be roughing it.
Since opening in 2000, Yunak Evleri has hosted literally hundreds of thousands of visitors, who have each no doubt delighted in the ability to watch sunsets from the comfort of lavish Turkish pillows while warmed by a nearby fireplace, enjoy candlelit dinners on a rooftop terrace overlooking the mesa, and then retreat to their own private hillside cave room.
