Linkin Park Frontman Chester Bennington Dead at 41, Killed Himself By Hanging
#RIP to another rock legend who has left us far too soon.
TMZ reports that Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington has killed himself.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that the 41-year-old singer was found dead by hanging at his Palos Verdes Estates residence in Los Angeles County just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
Bennington had openly discussed the drug and alcohol addiction he struggled with during his troubled youth and throughout the chart-topping heavy rock band’s early years.
Linkin Park’s latest album, One More Light, was their sixth record to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Hit songs from 2000’s Hybrid Theory and 2003’s Meteora such as “In the End,” “Breaking the Habit,” and “Crawling” remain a staple of rock radio to this day.

Bennington was also a close friend of Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell, who also hanged himself earlier this year.
He is survived by his wife, Talinda Ann Bentley, and six children.
