Instagram-bro/slash/entrepreneur Robbie Tripp recently penned a letter praising his wife and her “curvy body.” It was a bid for body positivity and, let’s face it, Instagram likes.
“I love this woman and her curvy body,” Tripp begins, likely expecting a chorus of cheers.
“As a teenager, I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side, ones who were shorter and curvier, girls that the average (basic) bro might refer to as ‘chubby’ or even ‘fat,'” he continued.

We’re playing the world’s smallest violin for him.
“For me, there is nothing sexier than this woman right here: thick thighs, big booty, cute little side roll, etc,” he wrote. “Her shape and size won’t be the one featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan but it’s the one featured in my life and in my heart.”

Robbie boasts a solid 56,000 Instagram followers, meaning his post promptly caught wind. “People Are Applauding This Man For Celebrating His Wife’s Curves On The Internet,” blared one Buzzfeed headline.
Then suddenly, the tides turned. The hive mind of Twitter discovered his letter and spares no time tearing it to shreds.

The man behind the backlash has responded.
“Anybody searching for any sort of negativity in that post — you’ve got to really try and twist the purpose and intent and what I’m saying to even conjure up anything negative from that,” Tripp told PEOPLE.
“Because at the end of the day, if you’re hating on that post, you’re hating on a guy loving his wife. You’re hating on a guy celebrating his beautiful wife who he’s attracted to.”

For her part, his aforementioned “curvy wife” seems totally cool with the whole deal. She just professed her love for her husband on Instagram, in a sponsored content post (#ad).
Sounds like these two really are a match made in Insta-heaven.
