Shocking video has emerged of the high-speed motorcycle accident that landed George Clooney in an Italian hospital.

CCTV footage of a Sardinian road shows the moment Clooney’s bike collided with a motionless Mercedes-Benz sedan at 60 mph. The 57-year-old Oscar winner appears to flip over the handle bars and soar through the air before crashing down on the pavement below.

According to Page Six, Clooney was rushed to John Paul II hospital in the nearby town of Olbia with trauma to the pelvis and knee. The injuries were not serious, and he has since been discharged.

The Daily Mail reports that Antonello Viglino, the 65-year-old driver of the Mercedes, didn’t recognize Clooney’s name when it was revealed by one of the actor’s body guards.

“Who?” Viglino asked.

“Clooney, the actor … the one who shoots the film at the airport,” the bodyguard replied.

“I didn’t see anything, I had the sun on my eyes. I was about to turn, I just got over the line,” Viglino responded.

The bodyguard was referring to the upcoming Hulu series Catch-22. Clooney is credited as a director, producer and star of the show, which has been filming in Italy since May.

A spokesman told the Associated Press Clooney is “recovering at his home and will be fine.”
