Last week, U.S. forces bombed an ISIS bank to kingdom come. Now you can watch it happen.
On Monday, the Department of Defense released footage showing the moment when two 2,000-pound bombs completely annihilated an ISIS bank in the strategically important city of Mosul, Iraq.
According to General Lloyd Austin, head of the U.S. Central Command, the airstrikes “deprive[d] ISIS of millions of dollars.”

Taking out ISIS financial centers has been an important part of the Western campaign against the terrorist group. In 2015, the Iraqi finance minister said the militants “had looted nearly half a billion dollars from banks in Mosul and the other northern cities of Tikrit and Baiji” after moving into Iraq from Syria, according to the New York Post.
“Combined with all of the other strikes that we’ve done on ISIS’ gas and oil production and distribution capabilities and strikes against his economic infrastructure and the various sources of revenue, you can bet that [it] is feeling the strain on his checkbook,” Austin told reporters on Monday.
