Kevin Smith Suffered a ‘Massive Heart Attack’ and Nearly Died
“If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight.”
Kevin Smith, the comedian and filmmaker of Silent Bob fame, is fortunate to be alive.
This morning, he tweeted from a hospital bed that he had suffered a “massive heart attack” between back-to-back standup shows.
After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack. The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka “the Widow-Maker”). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground! pic.twitter.com/M5gSnW9E5h

Smith was filming a new standup special, Kevin Smith Live!, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale Sunday night. The first show began at 6 p.m., and the second was scheduled for 9 p.m.
We are grateful to still have him.
