Sarah Silverman Just Got Hacked by Anonymous Over Her ‘Bernie or Bust’ Remark
The hacktivist collective attacked the actress/comedian for her DNC speech.
The wrath of Anonymous can be swift — and that’s something Sarah Silverman now knows all too well.
On Monday, the hilariously filthy comedian took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and quickly earned the ire of Bernie Sanders’ die-hard fans by calling out the “Bernie or Bust” supporters—who were quite visible as the convention opened.
“Can I just, to the Bernie or Bust people, you’re being ridiculous,” she said. Check her speech here:
Needless to say, the Bernie crowd wasn’t too happy. But it seems it wasn’t just the Vermont senator’s die-hard fanatics that were pissed about Silverman’s slam—apparently so was the the hacktivist group Anonymous, who have previously hacked ISIS and Donald Trump, just to name a few.
So on Wednesday morning, less than two days after her Bernie bro-bashing speech, her Twitter got hacked. And it looks like hacktivist collective Anonymous was behind it.
The Daily Dot reported that early on Wednesday, a tweet came from Silverman’s account that included a link to a Clinton-slamming video, which came from the “Anonymous Official” YouTube page. The tweet also asked: “America, are you awakening?” The post also included that question in Russian…for some mysterious reason.
Silverman soon confirmed the hack on Twitter. The mystery tweet has now been deleted. Anonymous hasn’t claimed responsibility for the hack, but…c’mon.

So the lesson here may be twofold: don’t mess with the Bernie Bros. And watch the hell out for Anonymous!
