Why Tinder ‘Smart Photos’ Will Get You More Matches and More Sex
This is the Tinder upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
Thanks to a new feature on Tinder, your chances of getting laid just increased exponentially. Well, not actually exponentially, but by a pretty good amount.
With a new feature called “Smart Photos,” the hookup/dating app alternates the first photo people see on your profile, then rearranges your pictures based on which first picture gets you the most right-swipes. You see, Tinder just wants you to help you get it on. They’re so thoughtful! Best. App. Ever.
In case you’re feeling skeptical about the usefulness of this new feature, don’t. During the testing period, there was a 12 percent increase in matches, which is actually a pretty big deal.
“Smart Photos takes into account each individual’s swiping pattern when selecting which photos they’ll see first,” says an announcement on Tinder’s blog. “It’s a system that gets smarter with more input: the more you swipe and the more you’re swiped on, the better the algorithm serves you.”
So basically it works the same way Google Translate works. It picks up data with use, and serves you accordingly. For example, people in the Ukraine were talking about Russia’s foreign minister in such a way that Google started translating his name to “sad little horse” for a while. Algorithms, amirite?
Anyway, back to Tinder. To use the Smart Photos feature, all you need to do is download the update, turn on Smart Photos in the “edit profile” tab, and you’re good to go.
Happy swiping!
