Launched in late 2018, Athena stands out as one of the most well-known nutrient lines in the cannabis industry. It is a vertically integrated formulator and manufacturer of liquid and dry fertilizer blends designed for commercial cannabis cultivators. They have partnered with Demeter Designs, an irrigation and fertigation design team utilizing state-of-the-art renderings to build detailed plans for any contractor and install systems anywhere in the world.

Brandon Burkhart, an entrepreneur and seasoned cultivator, founded Athena. Brandon leveraged his firsthand experience with many of the nutrient lines that existed before Athena. He had become weary of his feed program’s use of numerous bottles and supplies and the irregularities it produced. Brandon was motivated to design a more straightforward line that enhanced quality, cut costs, was well-balanced, and required fewer parts to operate.

Brandon teamed up with Jungle Boys, one of the biggest growers in California, transforming the idea into a firm concept and immediately putting it into practice. This partnership made it possible to develop Athena for the ideal run after years of testing in Los Angeles grow facilities.

Across the country, Athena is available both in-store and online at all significant hydroponics merchants. NYSK Holdings uses and distributes Athena in Macedonia. Only NYSK Holdings, a firm licensed by the Polish General Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, one of the European Inspectorates, produces an active pharmaceutical substance (API) and finished pharmaceutical forms based on medicinal cannabis. Since its launch about three years ago, Athena’s revenue has increased monthly and yearly.

Athena is known for its massive growth and expansion of knowledge within a record time. Athena has subsidiary companies, AMG, which handles the manufacturing bit; Demeter Designs, a cannabis industry irrigation/fertigation facility design and rendering firm; and Imperium Controls, which controls the irrigation/fertigation system controllers. Athena currently ranks among the top ten brands in the cannabis nutrient sector both in expansion and revenue realization.

An industry leader, Athena is also championing more growth in the cannabis industry. They’ve invested heavily in production infrastructure, acquiring an additional production facility in Sacramento, California. Custom-made Murray and Doyle equipment have been purchased to blend both Athena lines. These new automated blending and packaging machines will significantly increase Athena’s production capacity. Upon completion, the two facilities will be capable of producing 2.5 million gallons of liquid fertilizer and 20 million pounds of dry fertilizer blends annually.

According to the founder, Athena exists to support the modern grower at different levels. “Our core principle is to formulate products that improve quality, reduce costs, and drive consistency. Athena was born in the grow rooms of Los Angeles, California, where we always pursue the perfect run. As the weight of being a cultivator increase, we exist to make the complex simple. Athena is not a nutrient line; it is a program,” states the founder.

Moving forward, Athena prides itself on continuing to support growers of all sizes with different growing styles. The team is made up of growers who have previously used many lines but, thanks to Athena, now use one sole line–a program that works.
