This Insane 1,400 hp “Metal Foam” Supercar Will Blow Your Mind

The extraordinarily strange Inferno concept car is made from zinc, aluminum and silver.

Tired of the same old boring “exotics” from the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini? Yeah, us too. Fortunately, the people behind the Inferno Exotic Car are prepared to relieve the tedium with a 1,400 horsepower dose of excitement.

The brainchild of Antonio Ferraioli, designer of cars like the Lamboghini Veneno, Reventon, Aventador and Gallardo, the Inferno features something the company calls “metal foam” bodywork. They say that this material, said to be a combination of zinc, aluminum and silver, is lighter and stronger than other materials, which contributes to the Inferno’s predicted performance.

The company says the car will hit 247 mph and accelerate to 60 mph in under three seconds. Such acceleration, along with Ferraioli’s Lamborghini background, implies all-wheel drive to put so much power to the pavement.

While Inferno is based in Mexico, the company plans to build the cars in Italy, where there is industrial infrastructure and know-how already in place to build such cars. The price is To Be Determined, but that might as well be If You Have To Ask.
