Rezvani coined the term “Xtreme Utility Vehicle” to describe the military-inspired Tank SUV. The newly announced replacement for the outgoing off-roader isn’t just even more “Xtreme”—it’s downright terrifying.
For starters, the California-based custom automotive company is claiming that the Jeep Wrangler-based 2020 Tank X flagship is the most powerful production SUV in the world.
That already-formidable 707-horsepower Dodge Hellcat engine in the old Tank has been replaced by its more potent bigger brother—the Demon’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8, tuned aggressively by Rezvani to deliver over 1,000 hp and 870 pound-feet of torque.
The frame-mounted body’s aggro grille, chiseled fascia and sleek defined lines share similarities to its predecessor, while a roof-mounted LED light bar also gives drivers another added lighting element. Everything rides on a Fox racing suspension and 37-inch all-terrain tires.
Despite its ultra-tough external aesthetics, the cabin is defined by luxurious touches like hand-stitched on the seats, a suede headliner and a big 7.9-inch central infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay capability.
Here’s where things get crazy. Rezvani also offers a “Military Edition” of the Tank X that’s loaded with the types of truly insane features.
Perhaps the craziest is the Electro-Magnetic Pulse Protection. Per Rezvani, here’s how it works:
Electro-Magnetic Pulses are radiated after a nuclear explosion and render electronic devices inoperable. EMP weapons are also used to disable electrical systems prior to a broader attack.
Tested at a Department of Defense (DOD) approved testing facility, the EMP protection device is the worlds first electromagnetic pulse (EMP) protection technology for a vehicles entire electrical system.
