2021 Chevy Colorado Gets Rugged New Look
This is one seriously tough mid-size pickup.
It may still be 2019, but Chevrolet is already giving us a first look at its menacing new 2021 Colorado.
The mid-size pickup truck will be offered in four trims from base to top-end: WT, LT, Z71, and the off-road oriented ZR2. Naturally, the latter has the most aggressive style and equipment.
The ZR2 will be the only Colorado variant with an all-new lettered “Chevrolet” front fascia. Rugged standard features include front and rear electronic locking diffs, a two-inch body lift, 3.5-inch wider track, off-road rockers, cast iron control arms, red tow hooks and multiple skid plates.
Both the ZR2 and the Z71 will be offered with a slick “Sand Dune Metallic” exterior. Accompanying art fittingly shows a ZR2 blasting dunes while wearing the new color.
The WT and LT get a new gold Chevy bowtie emblem, center bars, lower fasicas and front skid plates. The Z71 gets the same, but the emblem is blacked out. Finally, all four trims feature a new tailgate imprinted with “Chevrolet.”
“We’ve sold 520,000 Colorado pickups in five years through a relentless, foot-on-the-gas approach to product and feature updates,” said Bob Krapes, director of marketing, Chevrolet Trucks. “With its new-look front end and tailgate, Colorado will now have a more aggressive appearance to match its award-winning capability.”
No updates on performance, powertrain or price have been announced yet, but expect to hear more before the 2021 Colorado goes on sale next year.
