Jaguar gave the already-striking F-Type a makeover for the 2021 model year and a powerful new engine lineup to boot.

The sporty coupe now boasts a new clamshell hood design that sweeps from the slimline LED headlight to achieve an overall aesthetic that subtly references classic Jags like the 1950s-era C- and D-type race cars. A wider and deeper gloss-black grille wide with a new hexagonal mesh pattern and satin chrome grille surrounds adorn the door.

There are now three power plants available. The heftiest, a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces 575 hp, is reserved for the top-end F-Type R, while a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 distinguished by two large round tailpipes resides in the 380-hp F-Type R-Dynamic. The base F-Type gets a turbo-charged  2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder and 296 horsepower.

All drivetrains get eight-speed automatic transmissions with the ability to shift manually with steering wheel-mounted paddles or Jaguar’s Sportshift gear selector. A sprint in the R model to 60 mph takes 3.5 seconds, and the the top end is electronically limited to 186 mph. Those stats are right up there with the 2020 Porsche 911.
