A quarter century after Ducati invented the naked sportbike category with the introduction of the 1993 Monster, the Italian superbike builder is commemorating the occasion with the introduction of the limited-edition Monster 1200 25° Anniversario.
Ducati’s building only 500 of the individually numbered special edition bikes, each finished in the red, white and green colors of the Italian flag.
The tubular steel trellis frame is gold, as are the spokes of the Marchesini forged aluminum wheels.
Note how those features have evolved throughout the years.
The mirrors, frame plugs, handlebar end weights, gas cap, brake and clutch levers and the license plate holder are also machined from aluminum.
The anniversary model features the 147-horspower liquid-cooled 1,200 cc V-twin engine of the Monster 1200.
The engine is backed by an adjustable 48 mm Öhlins fork and adjustable Öhlins rear shock. Öhlins also provides the steering damper.
Braking power is from dual 330 mm diameter Brembo front discs paired with Brembo M50 monobloc calipers, along with 245 mm rear disc and Brembo caliper.
The Monster 1200 25° Anniversario arrives at dealers in November, with a starting price of $19,995.
