Airstream Debuts Two New ‘Silver Bullet’ Trailers With Classic Style and Luxury Amenities
Road trip, anyone?
Airstream just unveiled two new trailers with retro style and modern amenities that are sure to fuel your road-tripping fantasies.
Technically, the “Bambi” and “Caravel” coaches are revamps of the “most adored historic single-axle models” that the brand introduced over 50 years ago.
Unlike modern single-axle Airstreams like the fiber glass-bodied Nest, these have the “silver bullet” aluminum shell that camper fans will recognize instantly. Panoramic windows with optional matching awnings, stainless steel rockers, and storage spaces offer plenty of campsite-worthy utility.
Those retro exteriors give way stunning modern interiors. The Caravel’s blends bright whites, warm woods and black accents, and the Bambi’s gets bright neutral tones that enhance natural light.
Both models are available in 16, 19, 20, and 22-foot floor plans with different configurations of sleeping spaces, dinettes, kitchenettes and restrooms.
Even their monikers are tied into Airstream history. “Caravel” is a nod to company founder Wally Byam’s love of the sea, while “Bambi” references the unofficial nickname given to Byam’s trailer while he was traveling across Africa on a 6,300-mile journey from Cape Town to Cairo.
The Airstream Bambi and Caravel, priced at $48,900 and $60,900, respectively, are available at dealerships nationwide right now.
