We knew the moment we got behind the wheelof the all-new-for-2014 Impalathat this wasn’t our Uncle Lou’s Chevy. (The lack of porn magazines from 1977 in the backseat was clue No. 2.) Now, the eggheads over at Consumer Reports have confirmed what we knew to be true, rating the car the best sedan in the world. The Impala’s smooth ride, slick handling, spacious cabin, quick acceleration, and cavernous trunk helped it beat out offerings from fancy-schmancy brands like Lexus and Jaguar. Considering the Impala is pretty much an American icon, cruising on roads from I-95 on the East Coast to the PCH on the West since 1958, we feel pretty damn patriotic right now. (So patriotic, in fact, we’re gonna go ahead and watch the end of Rocky IV.)
