Only five of 23 total F1 races have unfolded so far in 2023, but Aston Martin is already celebrating its podium-filled start to the season with the DBX707 AMR23 Edition.

The timing is perfect. The world’s fastest, most powerful and best-handling luxury SUV—the likes of which Maxim experienced first-hand its launch event in Costa Smeralda—is the official Medical Car for the 2023 F1 season.

And the DB bloodline—named for David Brown, the English businessman who bought Aston Martin in 1947 and Lagonda in 1948—is about to get a new generation in the successor to the DB11, a new sports car that Aston says will “break free from the norms of the GT sector” by creating its own category.

But most relevantly, the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team is also having its best season by far since the marque’s official return to the motorsport in 2021.

With multiple third-place finishes from lead driver Fernando Alonso and multiple points finishes from driver Lance Stroll, Aston Martin is currently second in the World Constructors Championship standings, scoring 102 points in five races. For perspective, Aston Martin finished a disappointing seventh out of 10 teams in the previous two World Constructors Championships, scoring just 55 points in 2022 and 77 points in 2021.

This newfound success only happens with the brilliant AMR23 F1 race car, for which this limited-edition version of Aston’s first SUV is named. The bespoke Q by Aston Martin personalization service dolled-up the DBX707 with a Podium Green paint coat, fender badge, and Aston Martin Racing Green brake calipers.

A lime green shade pulled from the accent line that runs the length of the AMR23 F1 car adds especially eye-catching touches to both the exterior carbon body kit and the Onyx Black/Eifel Green interior’s contrast stitching. The AMR23 logo also appears on the door sills as a treat for ultimate Aston F1 fans.

And of course, power comes from the segment-leading 4.0-liter AMG V8, calibrated and twin-turbocharged at the Aston Martin factory to send 697-horsepower through a nine-speed transmission equipped with a wet clutch. With that performance, the SUV hits 60 mph in a supercar-worthy 3.1 seconds on the way to 193 mph.

The Aston Martin DBX707 AMR23 Edition is available to order now from $275,000, per Car and Driver.
