It seems a 6×6 renaissance coming, and Classic Overland may have just crafted the Mona Lisa.

While Apocalypse Manufacturing and Hennessey Performance modify modern 4x4s to take a third axle, the restomodders at Classic Overland dug up one of the few Land Rover Defenders specced with six wheels from the factory at a South African fire station.

From there, they gave it a heart transplant, swapping a 1980s-era 3.5-liter V8 with over 18,000 miles of wear for one of GM’s supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8s, according to Robb Report. The engine cranks 682 horsepower through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Then came a makeover involving an Icy White paint coat and a smattering of contrasting black accents. LED lights, custom steps, a winch, blacked-out rims, and a snorkel for submerged off-roading were also equipped.

The so-called White Rhino serves as a sort of animalistic sequel to Classic Overland’s Black Mamba Defender 6×6 completed in 2019. The finishing touches are still being added, including a “premium leather interior.”

When it’s done, the Classic Overland White Rhino will cost $400,000. Inquire here.
