Henry Ford once said, “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.”

Classic Ford Broncos (CFB) really took the American automotive pioneer’s quote to heart with their latest rendition of the iconic 4×4.

The Ohio-based Bronco restomodders used an abundance of black in their “Vail” overhaul of what began as a 1968 model, from the “Midnight Onyx” body to a menacing black-over-black leather weave on the seats.

CFB did use some restraint on the murdered-out ride, restoring the front and rear bumpers to their factory chrome sheen and painting the vintage “Ford” logo embedded in the grille blood red.

Under the hood is an all-aluminum Coyote 5.0-liter crate V8 from Ford Performance that channels 435 horses to a modern four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, while hydraulic brakes provide the stopping power to the 33-inch all-terrain tires.

A period-accurate dash, steering wheel and instrument cluster all contribute to the cockpit’s retro feel, though drivers can still connect their smartphone and jam out to their favorite tunes as they take the 2.5-inch-lifted bruiser off the beaten path courtesy of a five-speaker, Bluetooth-enabled sound system.

Sadly, the “Vail” Bronco already sold for a lofty $225,000. But if you have nearly a quarter-million to drop on one of these custom pieces of car history, get in contact with CFB online here. See more of their work below:
