This Custom Yamaha Inspired By High-End Timepieces Is One Brutal Bike
It really is one to “watch.”
We already liked L.A. bike builder Kimura’s take on the Yamaha XSR700, but now Munich’s Diamond Atlier has built an even badder custom based on the larger XSR900.
Dubbed the Son of Time, this is a project designed with Dutch watchmaker TW Steel Watches.
While Diamond Atlier incorporated plenty of timepiece-themed design elements, especially the watch installed where the headlight would normally go, and watch face-style graphics surrounding the gas cap, the coolest item might be the extreme cutaway gas tank.
The new tank arches gracefully over the open air, leaving only three-quarters of a gallon of fuel capacity. But you weren’t riding far on those slick tires and without a headlight, so it will be fine.
Other cool components include the SC-Projects exhaust system, lowered inverted fork, custom Gilles rear-set foot pegs and controls, ABM clip-on handlebars and ABM steel braided brake lines and slick Kellermann bar end-mounted front turn signals.
This one-off bike might not be available to buy, but TW Steel hopes it has caught your interest in some of their watches.
