Although we won’t get all the details until the New York Auto Show in April, some information about the Dodge Demon is already leaking out. Such as: It will only have a driver’s seat!
Dodge has been bragging that the Demon will be 200 pounds lighter than the Hellcat, leaving us to wonder where they found that kind of excess weight to trim. The fellas over at Autoblog apparently have sources, and they say that 113 of those pounds are dropped by losing the front passenger seat (58 lbs.) and the rear seat.
The Dodge Brothers have also told us that the Demon will feature monstrous 18 x 11-inch wheels, front and rear, and that they’ll mount equally huge 315/40R18 Nitto NT05R drag racing radials all the way around.
These fatties require fender flares that add back some of the weight gains while making the Demon 3.5 inches wider than the Hellcat.
We can’t wait to see how many owners are willing to give back some additional savings by bolting in a passenger seat. Isn’t filling that seat one of the main reasons to drive a Challenger?
