‘Honey Badger’ Is the Corvette-Powered, Stick-Shift Land Rover Defender the World Needs Right Now
Honey Badger don’t care.
The Land Rover experts at East Coast Defender have struck again, building a customized dream Defender 90 that combines 430 horsepower of Chevrolet LS3 small block V8 power from a Corvette with a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission for maximum enthusiast driver participation.
This beast is named “Honey Badger,” and it includes an upgraded transfer case to handle the power and a Borla exhaust system to provide a suitable soundtrack for such a gorgeous ride.
That’s not black paint, it is dark green “dunkelolive” paint from Porsche‘s palette with gloss black 18-inch Sawtooth aluminum wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich All Terrain KA02 tires.
There is a full roll cage beneath the soft roof for safety, and Honey Badger enjoys unseen upgrades like stainless steel fuel and brake lines.
Those are Moal Bomber gauges from Classic Instruments on the dashboard, with JBL speakers in the doors and a Kenwood infotainment system providing tunes.
The seats are ivory leather Corbeau buckets in front with matching folding jumpseats in the rear.
Match these goodies with the irresistible combination of the LS3 V8 and six-speed manual and the resulting Honey Badger is one sweet ride. And, as we all know, Honey badger don’t care.
