Hennessey Performance set a Guinness World Records speed mark of 270.4 mph with the Venom GT, making it officially the world’s fastest car. Now, after a production run of a dozen cars, including one owned by Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler, Hennessey is concluding Venom GT production with a $1.2 million glacier blue Final Edition.

The 1,451-horsepower rocket has a twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter small block V8, to propel its scant 2,743 pounds of mass, which results in 0-to-300 kph acceleration (186 mph) in 13.61 seconds.

The final edition car is sold, but Tyler’s GT Spyder goes to the auction block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction Friday night, Jan. 20, so there is still one car available.

“We’ve attained some pretty incredible achievements with the Venom GT,” said company founder & CEO, John Hennessey. “It was always my dream to build the fastest car and we did just that. Our Venom GT retires as one of the fastest cars on the planet along with being one of the most exclusive.”

But worry not, Hennessey isn’t finished just because the Venom GT is done. Look for the Venom F5 “sometime later this year,” Hennessey promised.
