This Flat-Pack Trailer Can Be Built With Just a Screwdriver In Under 1 Hour
Hit the road in killer DIY style.
Design studio Duffy London has imagined a way to make compact camping trailers that fold up flat for shipping, letting customers assemble them at home like Ikea furniture.
The Brits seem determined to overtake the Swedish allen wrench furniture giant with flat-packed vehicles like the Ox truck and this Duffy camper to go with it. An hour’s work with a screwdriver is enough to make the camper ready to use. `
The camper portion, which sits atop a conventional trailer frame, packs small enough to fit 35 of them into a typical parcel van.
Duffy theorizes that in addition to glamping in comfort, these campers could be used in stand-alone wheels-free fashion as emergency shelters that are easily shipped to disaster sites. Just watch out for disputes over whether the screwdriver or the allen wrench is the superior DIY tool.
