This 1,200 HP Custom Corvette ZR1 Could Be the Fastest ‘Vette Ever
Absolutely insane.
Our output-obsessed friends at Hennessey Performance have put a lot of rides in the 1,000-horsepower club as of late, including the McLaren 600LT, Cadillac CTS-V and Jeep Trackhawk.
The Texas tuning house really went ballistic with their take on 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1—a bonafide supercar that runs hot with 755-hp straight from the factory—by tuning the LT5 6.2-liter V8 to crank out a truly insane 1,200 horses.
It’s also the exact same figure that we saw from the “fastest Dodge Demon in the world.” Considering the stock ZR1’s tighter handling, we’re inclined to believe this ‘Vette would smoke the Speedkore Performance Group’s custom Demon on a track.
Hennessey’s upgrades included a ported factory supercharger, new cylinder heads, a high-flow induction system and a custom camshaft.
The ZR1’s eight-speed automatic transmission also needed to be bolstered to handle the power, but any models with a seven-speed manual gearbox can be left unchanged.
Pricing and performance specs weren’t immediately available, but Hennessey guarantees a three-year, 30,600-mile limited warranty onall of their custom 2019 ZR1s.
