The Indian FTR Carbon Is A Racing-Inspired Street Bike
Meet the highest-end member of Indian’s 1,203cc FTR lineup.
Indian Motorcycle’s versatile FTR lineup is getting a carbon fiber-clad addition courtesy of the aptly named 2020 FTR Carbon.
Like the Rally and both 1200 variants, this highest-end member of the FTR family is inspired by the Manufacturer’s Championship-winning Scout FTR750 flat track racer.
Moving past the red trellis frame and swingarm is the same proven 1203cc V-twin that sends 123 horsepower and 87 ft-lbs of torque through a six-speed gearbox in other FTRs, but the engine’s growl is enhanced by an Akrapovič low-mount exhaust in black.
The FTR is also distinguished by a carbon fiber tank/airbox covers, headlight nacelle, front fender, and passenger seat cowl, as well as a red, black and white “Carbon Race Replica’ paint coat and a sizable “FTR Carbon” badge.
Stopping power comes courtesy of dual 320mm disc front brakes that are mounted directly to the wheel to decrease weight Brembo four-piston calipers. Other features include a racing clutch, traction control, full
LED lighting for better visibility, a 4.3-inch LED touchscreen dashboard featuring a USB fast-charge port, and
Bluetooth compatibility for controlling mobile devices.
The 2020 FTR Carbon isn’t listed on Indian Motorcycles’ American website, but UK buyers can order one for the equivalent of about $18,300.
