Koenigsegg Automotive is dropping jaws this week at Monterey Car Week with the presentation of the Agera XS, a US-certified version of the Agera RS supercar being delivered to its unidentified American buyer.
That lucky (and ridiculously wealthy) customer was permitted to name the US-spec model and chose the letters “XS.” He also specified the Karosserie Orange paint, which has an intense orange finish with diamond-dust metallic effect and a clear carbon centre strip, plus the biggest rear wing ever fitted to one of the exotic Swedish automaker’s creations.
“The response to the Agera RS and the Regera in the USA has been overwhelming and we look forward to delivering the ultimate in automotive performance to our American customers in the very near future,” remarked Christian von Koenigsegg. “Our re-entry into the US market a watershed moment for our company and the Agera XS is the perfect car to emphasize this occasion.”
Other than the paint and the wing, the government-approved Agera XS carries over other regular Agera RS equipment, like its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8, seven-speed paddle-shifted transmission and Koenigsegg’s own special electronic differential to help put the power to the road.
Fortunately for US buyers, now that Swedish horsepower is set to burn up American pavement.
