Watch it shred Ferrari’s Fiorano test track.
The battle for global supremacy among the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder has led to bar debates, a shootout on The Grand Tour and an off-road tribute to the trio, but Ferrari has restated its case with a new video tracing the hypercar roots of the LaFerrari Aperta back to the 288 GTO of 1984.

The Aperta, you’ll recall is an open-topped continuation of the limited-production run of just 500 LaFerrari coupes, so it is also worthwhile to contemplate this video of the coupe version, which Ferrari touts as “the pinnacle of innovation.”
It illustrates how the LaFerrari employs both its traditional 6.3-liter V12 for the visceral sound and a 120 kilowatt electric motor for enhanced acceleration. Together they produce an impressive 950 horsepower that yields sub-3.0-second 0-60 acceleration times.
It also yields some impressive video entertainment, which may be all most of us will ever be able to enjoy from these incredible beauties.
