Land Rover Built a Custom Defender for the Rugby World Cup

We want one, even though the only trophy we have is from Little League.

Righting a longstanding wrong, the Rugby World Cup Trophy is finally being treated with the same care as The Pope: it’s getting its own, specially-made SUV. Specifically, the world premier rugby trophy will be rolling in this sweet, Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations Defender, replete with a custom climate-controlled, anti-glare glass cabinet for perfect viewing and splashy graphics, because sports.

The truck was built to house the famous trophy as it tours the UK and Ireland before the tournament, bringing golden, oblong joy to thousands of fans. (The rugby fan is a species native to the UK almost never seen on our shores.) Beyond the incredible viewing case, the Rugby Defender features a standard 2.2-liter diesel engine and a luxurious interior with Black Windsor leather seats embroidered with thread to match tournament’s color scheme. Next up on our wishlist: The 2016 Vince Lombardi Trophy Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Come on, Jeep, do it for America and our own oblong balls.
