Meet the Brand-Spanking-New Lamborghini Huracán

We’re not sure how to pronounce it, either.

There’s big news from over in Italy, and it has nothing to do with horny prime ministers or shitty sea cruise captains. After an incredible 10-year run in which over 14,000 were produced, the Lamborghini Gallardo is going to that big garage in the sky and is being replaced with this, the Huracán. Now, we know first hand what an incredible machine the Gallardo is, so Lamborghini really has to come correct with its successor, and based on these images they sent us, we have a feeling the Italian supercar company is doing just that.

The car’s full name is the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, which means it has 4-wheel drive and makes 610 bulls (er, we mean horses). Most Lambos are named after the angry male cows, and this one is no exception (Huracán was a Spanish fighting bull from the late 1800s who showed outstanding courage. What, you didn’t know that?) Design-wise, the car sort of looks like a smaller Aventador, the brand’s current flagship. Underneath, the Huracán has a monster 5.2-liter V10 that can get it from 0 to 60 in a hair over 3 seconds and to a top speed of 202. In other words, it’s not only sexier and more modern looking than the Gallardo, it’s also faster. Bravo, Lamborghini!

Delivery to the first customers is planned for spring 2014, so now might be the time to see what you can get for that Pinto in your garage.
