Jaguar’s first two-seat sports car in almost 40 years is ready for its close up in a slick new short film.
The launch of the Jaguar F-Typeis an automotive event of historic proportion. After all, the famed British automaker hasn’t made a two-seat sports car since the iconic E-Type—which is widely considered the most beautiful car ever built—went to that big garage in the sky back in 1974. So it’s little surprise that the Brits aren’t pulling any punches when it comes to advertising their dignified new beast. Much in the way BMW made a series of eightshort filmsin 2001 starring a then-unknown-in-the-States Clive Owen, Jaguar just unleashed the 13-minute “Desire” featuring (secretly British) Homelandstar Damian Lewis. The plot—Lewis is a car delivery man who gets caught up in a chase involving a sexy babe played by Shannyn Sossamon—is really just an excuse to show off the sights (and sounds) of the 495-horsepower monster…and we’re perfectly OK with that. Check it out.
