Florida-based Cigarette Racing, made famous by Miami Vice, has long been known for creating the world’s fastest powerboats.
Their newest creation, the latest product of a six-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG, the high performance arm of Mercedes-Benz, was just unveiled at the Miami International Boat Show—and it’s the most powerful open performance boat they’ve ever built.
Inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car, the 2,200 hp speed demon, dubbed the 41-foot SD GT3, has a pair of Mercury Racing engines good for 1,1oo horses each – enough to hit speeds in excess of 100 mph, or a ridiculously fast 87 knots.
Mercedes design chief Gorden Wagener oversaw the boat’s interior, which echoes the cockpit of the race car and boasts luxe features like 17-inch digital displays, marine-grade leather interior, a teak floor, Bluetooth connectivity and next-level audio and navigation systems.
Those interested in owning the SD GT3 can request pricing from Cigarette Racing, but just know that year’s boat came with a $1.2 million price tag.
