Watch this Insane Footage of a Mustang Drifting on an F1 Track

It’s truly mesmerizing.

While the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is normally host to screaming Formula One cars and streaking MotoGP bikes, drift master Vaughn Gittin Jr. had something else in mind for this classic European racing venue: shredding the 3,200 feet of its turns 3 and 4.

Gittin drives the Monster Energy Nitto Tire (think he needs a tire sponsor?) Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D. The car is powered by a 436-cubic inch V8 producing more than 900 horsepower.

“I have never been at a sustained angle for that long in my 14-years of drifting,” Gittin said. “In order to link turn 3 to 4, I had to go over the curbing and use all of the available runoff. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to get crazy on the epic Barcelona circuit.”

Gittin will build and sell street-legal Mustang RTRs, beginning Nov. 1, according to Ford Performance.
