This Ford F-150 Fastback Bed Cap Makes Your Truck Look Like a ’69 Mustang
Give your off-road pickup some classic Mustang style.
A Michigan-based company will endow your Ford F-150 with Mustang-inspired style…if you’re into that sort of thing.
Michigan Vehicle Solutions (MVS) is making a fiber glass bed cap with the same tapered, louvered roof line made famous by vintage fastback ponies.

After a Facebook photo of the product went viral, The Drive discovered that the so-called MVS “Aero X” is very real and styled after the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1.
“We looked around and saw the lack of innovation out there,” CEO Rich Oliver told The Drive.
“It’s time for a different thing from our grandfathers’ bed caps. The flat tonneau, the shoebox…all that has run its course.”
Though the Aero X is aftermarket, MVS ensures that everything from its rounded edges, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) paint coat and expert finishes are of premium quality.
The sporty topper is as eye-catching as it is functional, with an LED dome light, integrated LED brake light, tempered tinted window and key-operated lock.
MVS also claims that the Aero X’s aerodynamic profile makes it a fuel saver. Considering it also adds 260 pounds of weight, we’re a little skeptical of any potential to improve gas mileage.
Currently, the Aero X is compatible with 5.5 and 6.5-foot Ford F-150 beds. MVS is struggling to keep up with current demand, but plans are in the works to develop fastback-style caps for every pickup on the market, including the Ram and Chevrolet Silverado.
The $3,995 price tag includes body-matched paint, fixed side glass windows, louver, and spoiler. Visit the MVS website for further details.
