The Chevrolet Silverado is a perennial silver medalist in the sales race against 40-consecutive-year sales champ Ford F-150, so the company is making a renewed push to topple Ford with an upgraded 2019 Silverado.

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trailboss is one model the company will feature in its pursuit of the sales crown. It includes a bunch of off-road hardware from the existing Z71 option package, and adds a two-inch suspension lift for added ground clearance.

Unlike aftermarket lift kits, this factory option is fully validated for durability and covered by the truck’s warrantee.

Speaking of durability, Chevy engineers have employed a mix of advanced high-strength steels throughout the Silverado to cut weight from the truck while preserving the rugged construction buyers demand.

For example, a higher-grade alloy is used in the roll-formed, high-strength-steel bed floor, contributing to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight.

The macho Trailboss is one of eight 2019 Silverado models, which will include still more engine/transmission combinations to provide just the right blend of power and efficiency for a wider range of drivers.
