Watch This Mysterious, Strange Ad For the New DeLorean DMC-12
Ad or art film?
In 2017 the DeLorean flaps back into car lovers’ hearts on its gull-wing doors in the form of the DMC-12. In anticipation of this development, DMC Texas has released its first ad for the revived DeLorean. The ad is titled, “Lucky Coin” and it has a dreamy, strange vibe that stays with you long after you view it.

The spot seems to invoke the nostalgia that brought the DeLorean back for limited production in the first place. It happens in a timeless location and the actor could be from any time in the last 30 years or so.
DeLorean Motor Co. will make a relatively small number of new cars over five years and those are predicted to sell for nearly $100,000 a piece. As Maxim reported in January, DeLorean v.p. James Espey has promised that the car’s classic appearance “will remain virtually unchanged.”
Which is just fine. If it was good enough for Marty McFly, it’s good enough for us.
