Remember when Pagani said that the aptly-named “L’Ultimo” would be the last Huayra ever?
Change of plans: The Italian-Argentinian hypercar manufacturer just dropped an even more powerful, convertible version of the Huayra BC with a jaw-dropping price tag of $3.5 million.
That $1 million hike over the coupe BC is quite an upgrade, considering their engines are apparently identical. The AMG-tuned twin-turbo, 6.0-liter V12 still cranks out an impressively fearsome 800 horsepower to the seven-speed single-clutch gearbox.
Why not a dual-clutch? Pagani says by way of Motor 1 that the single-clutch is 35 percent lighter, which help keeps curb weight down to 2,685 pounds.
Performance-wise, this thing will hit 60 mph in 2.5 seconds and pull a whopping 1.9 Gs of lateral acceleration in the corners—that’s among the highest rating of any production car available today.
Part of the sky-high cost likely comes from the undeniably badass new six-pipe titanium exhaust. The Alcantara-and-carbon fiber-clad interior, however, is surprisingly muted (by Pagani standards). That carved wooden shifter is a nice cockpit upgrade, though.
Owners are also paying for exclusivity, as only 40 Huayra Roadster BC’s will be built. Contact Pagani now to get your name on the short list.
